The CXr is the second generation of Seldén furlers, designed to be easier and safer to use. Its standout feature is a patented ratchet system.

The ratchet keeps the sail from accidentally unfurling. To let the sail out, you simply make a short, firm pull on the furling line in the direction you want the drum to turn. Once unlocked, pull on the sheet and the drum spins freely, allowing the sail to unfurl smoothly.

Furling a large top-down sail can take effort, but the CXr ratchet lets you stop and rest at any point. The ratchet is strong enough to hold the sail under load and works automatically in both directions, so the sail stays exactly where you leave it.

Another key upgrade is a spring-loaded captive pin, making it quick and easy to attach the swivels to the sail.
