Seldén CXr Furling System – Catalina 425

The Seldén CXr is the second generation of Seldén top-down furlers, designed to make furling and unfurling large downwind sails easier, safer, and more controlled. The standout feature is Seldén’s patented ratchet system, which helps keep the sail securely under control while furling.

The CXr ratchet prevents the sail from accidentally unfurling. To release the sail, simply give the furling line a short, firm pull in the direction you want the drum to turn. Once released, the drum spins freely as you pull the sheet, allowing the sail to unfurl smoothly and evenly.

Furling a large top-down sail can require effort, but the CXr makes the process easier. The ratchet can hold the sail securely under load, allowing you to stop at any point and rest before continuing. It works automatically in both directions, keeping the sail where you leave it until you're ready to continue.

The CXr also features a spring-loaded captive pin, making it quick and convenient to connect the swivels to the sail while helping keep the hardware securely in place.
